Career & Internship Fair a Success

Date: 2020/03/06

The Career & Internship Fair was held on Wednesday, March 4, from 4pm-7pm. Over 150 job seekers and students came to the FSU Panama City Holley Center to meet with area employers and get a free professional headshot.

“CareerSource Gulf Coast is always looking for new and innovative ways to meet the needs of our area employers and job seekers,” said Executive Director of CareerSource Gulf Coast Kim Bodine. “Through our partnership with Gulf Coast State College and FSU Panama City, we were able to have an inclusive event for job seekers and students in our area.”

This event was the first time CareerSource Gulf Coast, Gulf Coast State College and FSU Panama City partnered together to provide an event for both job seekers and students.

“This partnership with CareerSource Gulf Coast and Gulf Coast State College met a real need in our community by helping address the labor shortage many of our area industries are currently experiencing,” said Jim Allen, Director of Student Success at FSU Panama City. “Bringing those industries together with our students, recent graduates and community job seekers helps to further efforts in growing our local economy.”

Over 60 employers were present, representing a variety of industries. The employers were hiring for fulltime positions and internships; many were hiring for both.

“We are grateful for the students and employers who attended this event,” said Kim Hoyt, Coordinator of Cooperative Education at Gulf Coast State College. “Career fairs are such an important part of a student’s career prep by offering the chance to present themselves professionally to employers and explore career options.”

Career & Internship Fair employers are still seeking hires. If you missed the event and would like to learn more about the positions available, please visit www.employflorida.com.
