CareerSource Gulf Coast Updates Procedures in Response to COVID-19

CareerSource Gulf Coast has been closely monitoring COVID-19, taking precautionary measures to keep our staff members and customers safe.

 

“As of Wednesday, March 25, all our offices will operate on an appointment-only service delivery system,” stated Kim Bodine, executive director of CareerSource Gulf Coast.  “Doing this will allow us to keep customers and staff from exceeding 10 individuals in any given each area and allow us ample time between appointments to carry out additional cleaning procedures; sanitizing all surfaces before and after each client’s appointment.” 

 

Due to limitations placed on businesses across that nation, it is anticipated that a large number of individuals will be laid off, whether it be temporarily or permanently. It is important to note that although Florida’s Reemployment Assistance Program is operated under the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, CareerSource Gulf Coast has resources and knowledgeable staff to assist those who need help filing their Reemployment Assistance claim (also known as Unemployment Compensation). 

 

Our area employers are also experiencing difficulties beyond their control, including limited operating hours, store closures, etc. There are resources available for business owners during this time, including the Short-Term Compensation and the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program.
