Disaster Employment Program


Hurricane Michael has left many of our community members out of work - but we are here to help!  If you live in Bay, Gulf, or Franklin County and you are out of work, you may qualify for temporary jobs to aid in the disaster recovery.  To learn more about these opportunities, please contact  the CareerSource Gulf Coast office in your county of residence.  To reivew the criteria for employment, please click the link below.

Veteran Job Seekers

We proudly provide priority of service to those who have served. CareerSource Gulf Coast services include career planning and guidance, skill assessments, job leads/referrals, resume and interviewing assistance, labor market knowledge and much more. In fact, we have specialists on staff who focus on intensive case management services for veterans with barriers to employment, particularly disabled veterans. Military Family Employment Program

Frequent moves associated with the military lifestyle can make finding employment a challenge. The Military Family Employment Program at CareerSource Gulf Coast can help. Whether you are new to the area or are entering the workforce for the first time, we’ll assist with a successful job search by providing employment counseling, job search assistance, job development, resume assistance, labor market information, and referrals.

Young Bay County Job Seekers

The new Cornerstone program is open to eligible young adults aged 16-24 who don't have a high school diploma or GED. Dedicated Career Counselors not only assist these young people in earning the diploma/GED, but also teach valuable life and employability skills.

Ticket to Work

CareerSource Gulf Coast link individuals with disabilities to resources designed to connect them to the right employment opportunities.  If you are between the ages of 18 and 64 and have been thinking about going back to work, you should consider the Ticket to Work Program, which is designed to help you keep your benefits, even while returning to work. Gulf County Programs

Young adults living in Gulf County may be eligible to participate in the Port St. Joe Summer Internship Program, gaining real world work skills and a step up as they work on a full-time job search. Among the places are our interns have worked are the City of Port St. Joe and the Gulf County Government Center. In addition, some work with the young children in our Port St. Joe Summer Leadership Camp, which draws upwards of 200 participants.
